Individuals tend to think that narcissists are vengeful and egotistical types of people. They are experiencing extremely low self-esteem and intense shame. Narcissists are extremely self-dependent, and when suddenly they lose that source, they can experience an emotional breakdown called a narcissistic collapse. While little has been researched about this subject, the study of narcissistic collapse can contribute to knowledge about narcissism and strip it of stigma. Number 1. Stress and Hurt

Most individuals perceive narcissists as irresponsible individuals who don’t hurt or get stressed. Narcissists might be known to possess an inflated sense of self, but they are no less hurt by pain. This is not so evident in overt narcissists but can be quite evident in covert ones. Regardless of their type, narcissists feel the same but react differently. Introverted narcissists become irritable when they are not accorded the attention they desire and go ahead to create problems, stress, and suffering. This inner turmoil primarily results in frustration, tears, and hindrance of normal functioning.
