2 Do not believe anything they say.
Believe the opposite of that. If you absolutely must know the truth, believe the opposite of what the narcissist is saying to you. For instance, if they say they love you, if they say they will be there for you, if they say they have always wanted the best for you, if they say they will do anything to save their family, if they say that they are very interested in taking care of your kids, believe the opposite. They do not care about you, they do not care about your kids, they have never been there for you, and they will never be there for you.
To see the truth, realize that a narcissist always lies, and what lies behind their lie is the truth. Don’t believe them unless you see it with your own eyes. In our world, we say, “Tongue has no bone, therefore you can speak anything you wish to, you can invent things.” Although a person may appear to be honest, it doesn’t necessarily mean he is. So, do not believe the word at face value, do not gulp it down, always take it with a pinch of salt, and have it documented.
For instance, if you’re dealing with a co-parenting setup, don’t listen when they say, “Let’s resolve it outside of the court system and let’s discuss it in a neutral setting where it’s just you and me.” Why call outsiders? Because they’re going to surely use that device on you in the scariest ways. Trusting them under any circumstances is trusting Satan when he’s tempting you with Heaven, tempting you with Freedom.
