Number 1: Jealous Of You
They can’t stand it, that green-eyed monster, it blinds them, that they’re so jealous of you. That’s one of the reasons, I remember with one of the narcissists that I had to deal with if anything good would happen to me and be like, “Oh, umm… so… good for you”. They could barely get the words out just to be like, happy for the other person. It was just like; “I’m happy for you” They’re just so so jealous of your success. That’s one of the reasons that they can absolutely hate you.
Number 2: Jealous when people like you better than them
Their extreme jealousy is rooted in their desire for approval and acceptance. They may appear accepting of people like you, yet their true discomfort arises when others hold a preference for you over them. This is particularly evident in scenarios involving couples or business partnerships. While they may allow themselves to appreciate you, if the sentiment extends to favoring you more than them, it triggers their unease. This unease stems from their profound insecurity and lack of self-assuredness. The fear of being sidelined or excluded from a situation intensifies their jealousy. Consequently, they become acutely envious when others show a preference for you over them, highlighting this as the second reason for their animosity.
