Number 8: By the Classic Stalker Methods
If your partner has NPD, they can also be a garden-variety stalker in the sense that they will follow you everywhere and watch your every step but don’t want to hurt you yet physically. Narcissists will spout off on threats or violence, however, if they feel something that annoys or triggers their jealousy. They may also be very jealous of anyone who might get close to you, as this can take attention away from them.
The way the stalker thinks is that they have to be in control at all times and will do whatever it takes to make sure this happens. It is challenging, but it’s important to remember that it is not your fault. You cannot dictate what another human being will or won’t do, or when, so there is no use blaming yourself for what they do.
Being stalked is a very threatening experience, but there are things that you can do to help protect yourself. If you are being stalked, you need to tell someone right away. Maybe it is a family member or friend who resides close by or a school or job acquaintance who understands what is occurring. You should keep in mind that you do not necessarily need to be alone to go through these with your narcissistic partner.
There are people who care about you enough to shield you from them: your friends and family, even the authorities. All you have to do is report to them and give them the abuse they inflicted on you.
