Number 1: They targeted you.
Most times, a narcissist has carefully selected the person they would like to have as their romantic partner and their primary source of narcissistic supply. They have been scoping you out and paying close attention to the way you present yourself and looking for other signs that will indicate to them that you will make a perfect long-term partner.
You’ve got to remember, that almost everything a narcissist does is premeditated with the intention of exploitation for their interests and desires, and nothing is more important than the person they select to be their romantic partner, which, as mentioned, will become their primary source of narcissistic supply.
So, what about you is so interesting to them, you ask? Well, first of all, usually, you will represent all of the things that they do not but wish they did, and they certainly will try and manipulate the people that surround them that these things are part of who they are. However, nothing could be further from the truth. So, depending on what they value the most will be the defining factor on who they target.
Do they value your beauty the most? And do they value your social standing the most? Do they value your money or lifestyle the most? Do they value your career and standing in the community the most? These are usually the things that interest these people the most.
