So, here, they will go all out to win you back, and you will find yourself wanting to think that it’s because they miss you or because they have these deep feelings for you, and they will even go as far as to tell you so. But, of course, with a narcissist, it’s never so; it’s the narcissistic supply that they crave and nothing else. And during this stage, they will promise everything: they’ll promise greater flexibility, greater listening to you, no more tantrums, but it’s all words and no deeds, at least not anything lasting. Therefore, grand acts and expensive gifts might be seen here, but only to deceive you and start the manipulative cycle. So things are heating up here, and now the narcissist gets a glimpse of reality that they’re losing you.
Now, let us discuss the blame game of the narcissist. In a desperate attempt to rewrite history to suit themselves, they will not take any blame, no shock there, and instead will present themselves as the victim who was victimized by your heartless cruelty and treachery.
Forget all the years of passive and active taunts that disintegrated your self-respect behind palace gates. With the narcissist’s new story, you finally used them for status, took advantage of their kindness at every opportunity, and discarded them when they’d served their purpose.
