Genuine Creativity: A Narcissist’s Struggle
To be creative, you need to be free inside, don’t you? You need to be open to new ideas. You need to have curiosity, depth, emotional range, and the courage to step outside of what you already know. Creativity is not about performance; it is about originality, and that is something a narcissist will never have. Narcissists are some of the most rigid people you will ever meet. They think in black-and-white terms. They cannot handle ambiguity. They have no space for the unknown.
They are not curious; they are threatened by anything they do not understand. And because they always think they know everything, they never actually learn anything. You can’t be creative if you are not willing to grow. That is why narcissists are obsessed with copying. They steal ideas, personalities, aesthetics, even lifestyles. They will look at what is working for you and then try to replicate it, not because they admire you, but because they want to be you.
They are not inspired by others; they are consumed by envy. There is no originality in what they do, just mimicry. And what makes it darker is the intention behind it. A chameleon changes color to survive; a narcissist does it to manipulate, to take advantage, to fool. That is not creativity; that is predatory shapeshifting.
And that is why, no matter how convincing they look on the outside, they will never come up with something that carries soul. They can get attention, yes, but they will never create something that moves people because true creativity is a gift from God, and God does not gift it to someone who uses others like tools.
