Number 5: Narcissists never apologize.

Because narcissists believe that they are superior to everyone else, they will never apologize or accept that they have made a mistake. How could they if they were utterly perfect? They are always correct; they are never held accountable and never offer an apology. Can you trust someone who can never be responsible for their mistakes? You most likely noticed it at first, but it eventually became a joke.

They are sometimes funny when they should be apologizing to someone. If you’re lucky, they’ll make you feel bad about it, or they use deception to trick you into admitting you did whatever it is, they should be sorry for. Someone apologizes if they are late for an event or even coming home.

When a narcissist is late, they tell you it’s simply who they are, even if it’s disrespectful. They suggest you should put them under a lot less stress; they cheat, and it’s somehow your fault. There are many more mistakes narcissists make that make you sorry for.

Number 6: Narcissists shift the blame on you.

When a narcissist starts shifting blame, it’s usually a sign that you’ve had their focus. This is a deceitful strategy used by narcissists and other emotionally dominating persons to divert attention away from their behavior and shift blame for any mistakes onto someone else. This strategy usually requires the narcissist’s knowledge of your flaws, inclinations, likes, and dislikes.

They know how to gently push your buttons, so you don’t notice they’re present. Blaming is an option for narcissists who refuse to accept responsibility for their faults. Putting your trust in someone who constantly blames you can only hurt you. According to a study, people who blame others for their faults lose prestige, learn less, and do worse than those who own up to their mistakes.
