The One Emotion a Narcissist Is Incapable of Feeling, No Matter What

Gratitude creates fullness because it implies that you have enough. The absence of it means that you always lack something. This is what narcissists always experience even if they have money, fame, attention, and beauty.

This is the reason why they always look for something more – validation, control, admiration. Their lives are like the eternal shopping sprees in a spiritual desert. They collect people and objects trying to feel alive, but all newly acquired things become boring quickly. Without it, even abundance becomes emptiness.

That’s how I experienced it myself. My dad owns a lot but claims to own nothing. He’ll be in luxurious homes but will continue saying “I’m poor. I’m unlucky.” And that’s exactly the reality of his life because he has manifested it himself. He manifests everything he has earned to the acid of ingratitude. He looks desperate, as if starving amidst a feast. His energy repels any joy since his words curse reality.

That’s what narcissists manifest too. They speak their misery into being. Their tongue becomes their punishment. Every complaint becomes an incantation keeping them trapped in their misery. Only gratitude could break this spell, but narcissists don’t allow themselves to say thank you with their hearts. Thus, the spell repeats itself forever.

Gratitude requires one to be self-aware. It requires one to realize one’s mistakes and blessings. A narcissist isn’t able to do either. He can’t recognize his mistakes because that will shatter the illusion of his superiority. He can’t see the blessings too since it would require him to acknowledge that someone else is behind them. The world owes him something, doesn’t it?
