Gratitude can’t live in entitlement, does it? It is impossible to plant seeds in stone. Even when he pretends to be thankful, like I mentioned above, it is just his strategy. He uses politeness as a mask of humility whenever it works in his favor. However, you will always feel the emptiness in it. There is no kindness in his words, there is no warmth in his energy. His “thank you” seems artificial, mechanical, almost as a part of a deal.
But, to him, everything is indeed a deal. For instance, if he asks for a meal and you prepare it, he may say thank you, but until the next time you don’t put the necessary spices into it. Then he will remind you how much he does for you. His gratitude runs out as soon as he stops getting what his ego needs. And even if you satisfy him properly, he will come to you with some new problem.
It is true for every spiritual teaching that gratitude is an abundance base. It is the language through which the feminine hates the universe. When you are thankful, you tell the Universe “I’ve seen the gifts that you have given me, and I’m ready to see more”. This acknowledgment multiplies energy and blessings. However, if you are ungrateful, you tell the Universe “you haven’t given me anything”. Then it returns the same energy to you.
Thus, a narcissist lives in a cycle of negativity because he attracts the chaos, betrayal, and emptiness because of the vibration of his energy of ingratitude. He drains others, uses their generosity for himself, and wonders why his life doesn’t go well for him. Spiritually, he is like a black hole that consumes light but doesn’t create it.
