Number 2: Be a better person than they are.

They are very good at pretending to be kind and compassionate people. Still, in reality, they are manipulative, selfish, and cruel. They will do whatever it takes to get what they want. If that means hurting someone else, so be it. If you want to make a narcissist regret everything they have done to you, try being a better person than they are.

Narcissists tend to be very self-centered and insecure, so their goal is to always make others feel worse about themselves. It’s an ugly cycle that can lead to some truly awful behavior. Suppose you rise above that behavior and become kinder and more compassionate than your abuser.

In that case, it will eventually sink in that they aren’t as important as they think. Even if you can’t do it all the time, it will always be possible. Focus on all the ways that experience made you stronger and wiser.

Number 3: Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself.

The best way to make a narcissist regret everything they’ve done to you is to stand up for yourself. They love it when people let them walk all over them, so if you want to get their attention and make them think twice about their behavior, start standing up for yourself.

A narcissist likely tries to convince you that you are the problem and everything is your fault; they may even try to manipulate you into believing they are the victim. Be careful not to fall into the strap. If someone constantly puts you down and makes fun of you, it’s time to change.

Don’t let the person get away with treating you poorly just because they can’t find anyone else willing to put up with them. If someone doesn’t respect you enough to treat you well or show kindness toward others then they don’t deserve your friendship or loyalty either.
